Here are two more choices about the logos.

The colour are changed and become more adult.

Scorrell Project - Logo

Here are three sets of logos,

they include LACERTA, AQUILA, PEGASUS, SCORPIUS and CYGNUS.

All of them are the Heartlands High School's Houses.

In my design, I put the star arrangement and a part of the animal to be the elements of the logo. Just like:

I used foots of a swan for the Cygnus logo;

I used the scorpion's tail for the Scorpius;

I used a wing and four legs in the Pegasus logo;

A beak for the Aquila logo and a lizard for the Lacerta.

Since my clients are Year 7 (11-12year old) children,

I think commercial or too serious style is not fit for kids.

So that's why I created these feeling,

I think they will like it.

OPEN BOOKS - Exhibition & Publication

Today was my first time to visite RCA - Royal College of Art.

There are a lot of methods or type for making/creating a book.
For example, magazine, newspaper, sketch book/ note book etc.
Actually I think hand making is better then print.
Every single book is unique if you make it by yourself.

I hope I can show my portfolio and my works by using those methods in the future.
Luckily, I got a David bookbinding workshop in the next month.
I believe that will be very useful. :D

Scorrell Project

After the Newspaper Club project, I got another project from Scorrell.

The aim of the Sorrell Foundation is to inspire creativity in young people and to develop their skills and role as consumers, clients and critics of design. The Foundation creates new ideas and prototypes, and joins up public-sector departments such as education and health with the UK’s world-class design community.

Now, I'm working as member of a design team, for a client team of around 10 young people from Heartlands High School in Haringey. They will direct the project. Heartlands is divided into five houses. The brief that my client team will give me will ask me to create an identity for their team’s house. 

I think this project is a great opportunity to learn about taking a brief directly from clients and also working with clients in order to meet their needs in an appropriate way. It will also be of interest to anyone considering co-design or teaching as possible career options.


So that's why I chose this project.

Every week, I got three meetings with my groupmates,

one meeting for Scorrell and one meeting for Heartlands.

So, I have to work five days per week about that. It's very hard !!

Also, communicate is very improtant in this project,

and that is the other difficult challenge for me to face it.

They are very cute and nice.

I think I didnt choose wrong after I met them.

I hope I can do a best thing for them.

Newspaperclub Part 3 - Done*

Finally, the out come is printed.

It is a very good experience for me to print something on a very light sheet.

I have to insert the paper very carefully and make sure the size and the position to prevent paper jamming.

Luckily, everything is fine. I printed three copies for using in my presentation- Jo, Darren, Alex Jarvis.

Hope they do understand what I'm doing ...

Newspaper Club Project - Part 2

 

Today we need to print out our work and stick them on the paper for creating the layout.
